Thursday Thoughts

1. Sunday Morning Worship - This week we will continue our preaching series featuring Disney Pixar movies - Community Goes to the Movies. Pastor Debbie will be examining the movie Up using the Scripture passage of Isaiah 43:14-21 and how this speaks to us about the importance of relationships. It is also Mother's Day and we will be recognizing all the women of our church and donating a $1 for each woman in attendance to Esther House.

Invite a friend to come with you this weekend. We'll be worshipping at 8am, 9:30am, and 11am. All are invited and all are welcome.

2. Rise Against Hunger - For the last several years we have participated in a meal packaging event with Rise Against Hunger where we packed over 20,000 meals for hungry children around the world in our Family Life Center. It has always been a rousing success and benefited a great number of young people. We are happy to announce that we are doing it again!

We are looking for 100 volunteers to help setup, pack meals, and take down, next Sunday May 19th. There is no signup required. Mark your calendars now as we all Rise Against Hunger.

3. Charge Conference - On Tuesday, May 21st, at 6pm, in our Family Life Center, we will have a special called Charge Conference. This meeting will be to consider and vote on the purchase of a nearby property. All members of the church have a vote.

4. Looking Ahead - Vacation Bible School Mark these dates on your calendar, June 17-21. That's when we will be celebrating ROAR! VBS at Community!!!! Beginning in May, Faye will be at the VBS table after each service to sign up children, volunteers, and answer questions. If you would like to register your children or grandchildren, or if you would like to signup to volunteer, you can do so online or by stopping at the church office to pick up a form. In the bulletin this week will also be a list of supplies and decorations that are still needed. If you are able to donate, or let us borrow, we would be grateful. This is an exciting time and a great opportunity for us to love on this community and the families that call it home! Have a great weekend and we will see you on Sunday!
