Thursday Thoughts

1. Sunday Morning Worship - This week we are continuing our  preaching series called "Jargon Unchained." We're going to be taking some of the theological terms and church jargon and explain it all in a much easier to understand way. This week's term is "Justification" and Pastor Loida will be explaining that one based upon Galatians 2:19-21.

Invite a friend and a neighbor and we hope to see you at 8am, 9:30am, or 11am! All are welcome, all are invited.

2. CUMC Concert Series - The Music Ministry will host Mr. Justin Maxey on this Sunday September 23rd at 6pm in the Sanctuary. This concert will feature a blend of secular, classical, sacred and modern works on the organ. Justin is a native of Winder, Georgia and currently serves as organist at Roswell Presbyterian Church north of Atlanta. A love offering will be taken.

3. New Thursday Worship Service

We have launched a new worship experience on Thursdays this fall  in the Family Life Center starting in September. That means it meets tonight! This Seven02 service (named after its start time!) is casual, contemporary, set up in the round and family friendly. Click here to listen to Pastor Daryl and Worship Leader Joey Landstedt sharing about the vision for this service.

4. Wednesdays Began Again!!!! All of our normal Wednesday activities returned in September - Wonderful Wednesday, Wednesday Night Dinner and GROW Night classes. What a blessing to be together in fellowship over dinner and learning in small groups. It's not too late to join in - check the bulletin board outside the office for a list of classes!

5. We Need You! - We are in need of a few people to help on Sunday mornings.
  • The first way is with the tech aspects of worship at our 8am and 11am worship services. We will provide all the training, but we need people to help with the PowerPoint and soundboard operations during the services. These positions are very important to the flow and experience of worship and truly add to our time together.
  • The other area we are looking for people is to drive a golf cart helping transport people to and from our parking lots. This is often our first point of contact and is extremely important in helping people feel welcome.
If you are interested, please contact the church office by clicking here or calling us at (352) 787-1829. Thank you in advance for your consideration.

6. Be In the Know! - One of the great things about Community is all the options and choices you have to help make disciples and build the Kingdom. And we want you to know about as many of them as possible. The best way to do that is for you to sign up for any of the various ways we have set up to communicate with you. Here is a list of them and how you can sign up or follow them:
